Being the largest non-profit making welfare service provider for the Chinese-Victorian community Chinese Community Social Services Centre Inc. (CCSSCI) understands the most pressing needs of our Chinese speaking seniors and set up the first and only Chinese Specific High Care Nursing Home in the year of 2006 to provide Residential Care Services for our Chinese seniors in the State of Victoria. On Luck locates at Eastern suburb of Donvale. With the completion of the new extension in 2014 it provides 120 residential aged care places (30 dementia specific places) and 24-hours-per-day accommodation & Registered Nurse managed nursing cares for Chinese-speaking elderly from all over Victoria. The vision for On Luck as advocated by Cr. Fred Chuah J.P. the CCSSCI President - 'On Luck is a nursing home - set up by the community for the community - that caters for the linguistic cultural social spiritual dietary and health care needs of Chinese-speaking elderly.' We are committed to providing the best quality care and ultra-modern facilities for our residents and peace of mind for their families. Our staff speak various Chinese dialects and they are specially selected to cater for the individual and special care needs of our residents of Chinese backgrounds and cultures. Duty of Care and Continuous Improvement are two important factors as we aim to be one of the best Residential Aged Care Facility on top of a Chinese Specific Aged Care Facility. Features of On Luck 'There are 44 singles rooms and 8 double rooms in H & K Building and 60 single rooms in our new extension C Building. 'Each bedroom has its own en-suite and individually controlled heating/cooling unit. Spacious lounge and dining areas in each Residents' Building. 'Purposely-built and well-maintained facilities to ensure residents' living environment is safe and secure. 'A specially designed dementia-specific unit with 30 single rooms and easy access to a multi-sensory therapy room and three beautifully landscaped and fully fenced courtyards. 'Chinese-speaking staff who are fluent in a wide range of Chinese dialects including Cantonese Mandarin Hokkien Teochew Hainanese and Hakka. Lifestyle Program An extensive and culturally appropriate Lifestyle and Recreation Program involves families and volunteers and includes individual and group activities and outings. We provides daily activities celebration of Chinese and Australian festivals visits and performance by community groups as well as Chinese satellite TV program.
